Karachi rains

The thought of rain makes many of us happy. While we go out and play in the rain just keep in mind that people are getting electrocuted, dying, homes are being demolished, cars and being sunk, stray animals are dying, houses are being flooded. Some can’t sleep at night because the sound of thunder brings shivers down their spine, in fear of being struck by lightning. If it rains in Karachi people can’t leave their houses, those who don’t have a choice and need to leave their house to support families, get food are stuck on the streets for hours and hours and those on bikes and those who are walking are in fear of getting electrocuted by electricity lines and poles. Dirty rain water is going into peoples plumbing system and instead of clean dirty water is coming in their homes. Stray animals are drowning in the pools of water on the streets and and being hit my cars. People are sitting in their homes without electricity for hours and maybe even days,, many don’t have generators as an alternative. Many houses are being flooded with rain water and people have to stand outside their homes.

What is a blessing and a source of enjoyment for us can be a killer for others.

Eveyone should sign reliable petitions that we know will reach the government asking for better irrigation systems, better roads and protection for those affected by rain.
