We say we are making a difference. We say we are changing the world. How are we changing the world if no one is discussing the fact that UNICEF declared this as the world’s largest humanitarian issue. How are we saving the world? Since the end of 2014 there has been a civil war in Yemen. A group of countries led by Saudi Arabia started to bomb Yemen in late 2014 to remove power from a group called the Houthi rebels. On September 3rd 2019 children went to their first day of school but it was disrupted by an air strike. Imagine growing up as a child in a place like this. Robbed of their childhood, their freedom, their fun. 80% of Yemen’s 24million population is in need of humanitarian assistance. From which more than 12million are children. Yemen has also suffered from famine. About 2 million children under the age of 5 suffer from malnutrition and require a treatment. More than 10 million children dont have access to proper healthcare. 2 million are out of school. Around 1/5 of children are robbed of their homes. 70% don’t have access to clean water and sanitation. 10.3 million don’t have enough food to eat which is a major issue and causes many deaths.
